Proverbs 18:24 John 15: 13-15
Here at Kodiak Baptist MissionI we strive for each child to enjoy playing and learning with their friends during the day. Whether it be on the swings, out in the grassy field, in the sandbox , or inside the classrooms, the children are making friends. Each morning the children look to see if their friend is here. A smile comes across their face as they see their friend enter the classroom. Conversations start about what great events might have taken place while away from each other. Happiness settles in them with every moment spent with their friends. Their day is filled with time spent with their friend. As much as we love to see friendships being formed here, we want the children to know the True friend. We want Jesus to be their friend, a true friend who will never leave them. One that gave his life for them. John 15:13-15 tells us; “ Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for friends. 14. You are my friends if you do what I command. 15. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” The children are making good friends at Kodiak Baptist Mission, but Jesus is the friend we want them to make and keep. He is the True friend. The friendships being made here may not last, but the friendship being made here with Jesus will last for eternity. Jesus is the friend that sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24. “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”. Jesus is our friend. The True friend. Make Him a friend.
